HA4 Task1 - The Purpose of Concept Art

Concept art is a main part in the games industry. People view concept art to determine what the game is like and will they buy it or not, the better the concept art looks the more copies the company will sell. There are three stages of concept art:

Exploration: This is basically the idea process of the concept art, fast creation of multiple ideas which are quickly reviewed and corrected to how they should look in the game. This is crucial to correct them as you don't want people getting the wrong idea about the game.

Approval: Once the concept art has been sketched and passed on their ideas they have to wait for the green light from the publishers and any partners and then they can start the producing stage of the concept art with much more detail.

Promotion: Once the concept art has been create it is then used to promote the game and gain awareness of the public and hopefully they will buy the game if they like what they see. This is why it's important to have good concept art that will intrigue the public, causing them to want to try the game out and then purchase a copy for themselves.
